KHSD Board Approves Distance Learning for Start of 2020-2021
The Kern High School District Board of Trustees voted to begin the 2020-2021 school year in a distance learning model at a special board meeting held on Wednesday, July 15.
All KHSD schools will remain in a distance learning only model for the first quarter, ending October 23, 2020. At the end of the first quarter, the District anticipates transitioning to a hybrid learning model, consisting of students attending school in person one or two days a week, and continuing with distance learning for the remainder of the week.
Teachers and staff have continued to work over the summer to prepare online delivery of instruction as well as other services to students and their families. Additional Chromebooks and WiFi hotspots have been ordered to facilitate this process. District, site administrators, and staff are working hard to continue developing plans to meet the needs of our students, and more information will be communicated in the coming weeks.
